WATER INTERRUPTOIN TO MOTHERWELL NU4, NU5, NU6, NU7, NU8 AND NU9

BY Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality is required to regularly undertake critical maintenance work on its water supply infrastructure in order to ensure that such infrastructure and system is 100% fully operational and provides a steady and uninhibited water supply to all our residents.

To this end, routine maintenance work will be carried out this week at one of the main water supply infrastructure facilities in Motherwell, which will temporarily affect  the supply of water to Motherwell NU4, NU5, NU6, NU7, NU8 and NU9.

Water supply to the affected areas will be temporarily closed from 08:30 on Friday, 9 January 2015 and will be restored by 13:00 (1pm) on the same day. Should the work take longer than anticipated, alternative arrangements will be made, such as the dispatching of water tankers to the affected areas.

The NMBM apologises to the affected communities for the inconvenience.  We assure you that the routine maintenance work is part of our continual improvement programme so that we are able to provide you with better services over a lengthier period.

IT IS IMPORTANT that affected communities TURN OFF their taps during the maintenance period as this will adversely affect the water flow when supply is restored.

We thank the people of Motherwell for your patience and understanding as we seek to bring you better services.

Working together we have done more!

CLOSURE OF UNION AVENUE/R75 (UITENHAGE) ON-RAMP FOR UPGRADE

BY SANRAL

The South African National Road Agency Limited (SANRAL), the parastatal responsible for the management, maintenance and development of South Africa’s national road network today announced that it has commenced the closing of the on-ramp between the R75 and R367, also known as Union Ave, near Uitenhage, Eastern Cape. The on-ramp is closed due to construction required to stabilise the slope next to the on-ramp.

An alternative on-ramp is now in place for motorists exiting Uitenhage for Graaff-Reinet via the R75 or Union Avenue.  Motorists will be required to follow temporary road signs and make use of the alternative on-ramp with immediate effect today (07 January 2015).

SANRAL hopes that maintenance and upgrades to the existing on-ramp will be completed in August 2015.

Motorists are encouraged to adhere to rules of the road and drive carefully.
