Eastern Cape municipalities are battling to retain skilled professionals
February 23, 2012 | BY
Eastern Cape municipalities are battling to retain skilled professionals who will be able fast-track service delivery. This statement was made by Local Government MEC Mlibo Qoboshiyane in an interview where he said municipalities need professionals who have the know-how and experience to turn local government around.
Qoboshiyane said he will bring the issue up with the provincial cabinet so they can come up with a strategy to attract and retain skilled personnel. He said employing unqualified people in positions is costing municipalities in the Eastern Cape huge amounts of money that government cannot afford.
